Let me just start with saying that I am so blessed to have Brett as my husband. Seriously, my biggest complaint with the man is that he throws his socks all over the house. Yep, biggest complaint. He is the most all around good guy I know. You know those people that tell you a story and you're not sure if that's really how the story went? Well, with Brett, it's verbatim. To the point of being annoying. He says he does that because he never wants there to be any doubt to his word. He is also the most non-judgmental person I know. He loves God, his family, kids, and me with all his heart and tells us that numerous times a day. I am so proud of who he is and who is has become. No doubt that God planned for the two of us to be together. No one else could just look at me when I'm in a rage about something, give me that "its okay, I understand you" grin and settle me straight down. He's also the funniest person I know. I didn't say he's not ridiculously corny but... seriously funny, nonetheless. I know this sounds sappy but I really could go on and on. For those that know David, he doesn't usually go out of his way to say overly nice things about someone. I don't mean that in a rude way but it's just not his styly. David had to miss the deacon council. He sent a letter to the deacons stating that he was all for Brett becoming a deacon and would stack his reputation on it. That was huge. Brett was speechless. Anyway, Brett was ordained deacon at our church on October 17, 2010. It was a beautiful service. I had the honor of singing, Adonai. That was also special because Brett and I were baptized together in 2004. I loved sharing this occasion with him as well. Many family and friends were there. Several of my girl friends from church were going to have to miss due to a previous engagement in B'ham but darted through the door minutes into the service. That meant the world to me. Our dear friend, Colby (he's also our youth minister) preached that night. It was such an awesome thing to see all the ordained men of the church pray with Brett one at a time. I love my church family so much and am so blessed to be a part of Alberta Baptist.
After the service, a big group of us went to dinner at the new El Shoney's. I guess that one should actually be called El Hardee's though.

PUMPKIN PATCH
On a gorgeous Saturday in October, Brett and I took the kids to the Pumpkin Patch in McCalla. We met Stacey and her boys and Dee Dee, Faith, & Franke. It was really a cool little place. They had trainrides, hayrides, bouncy blow-up thingys, and a big sand pile.
