MAGGIE'S 1ST DAY OF 2 YEAR OLD PRESCHOOL

Maggie has returned to Northport Baptist this year and is in the young two's structured learning class. We are so excited. I took her a few weeks ago and let her see her new room. She walked in a said, "I love this room!" Last night, when I was getting her in bed, I asked if she wanted me to sing to her. She said, "Yes, sing me a song about Jesus." I sang "Sanctuary" and she said, "No Mommy, sing a song about Jesus." She did so well this morning. Brett took off today to go with us. She went in and just started playing. We checked on her after our orientation and she was whimpering b/c she got something on her hands. The teacher cleaned it off and all was well. When we picked her up, she said, "I wanna go find Zander." That's her little friend from across the street. Then she said, "I read a book...with Elmo on it...I am a big girl." (picture date 8/25/08)

MORE OF MAGGIE TALKING

-Brett, Mag and I went out to lunch today. I was reading her the menu.
Mommy, "would you like some fried okra?"
Maggie, "fried okra...yes."
Mommy, "would you like some coleslaw?"
Maggie, "coleslaw...yes."
Mommy, "would you like some baked beans?"
Maggie, "baked beans...yes, that would be nice."
-The three of us sat on the front porch for hours today, watching the rain and playing with sidewalk chalk. Mag got the phone and had several little conversations. "Hey Hayden, what are you doing today? I drawing with chalk...yes...with Mommy and Daddy...okay bye." (8/23/08)

LIL' MAN'S FIRST PHOTO SHOOT

My doctor called me Thursday and said that he had a new ultrasound machine if I'd like to come in and let them try it out. Little did I know, it was a 3 and 4D! I was so excited because we hadn't planned on having one done with him like we did with Maggie. When his little face popped up on the screen, I was amazed. It may as well been Maggie in there. I think they look just alike. The first thing Grandpa said was, "Well, that's Maggie B." The first thing Hayden said was "He looks just like Maggie," which was followed by, "look at that big nose!" MAGGIE'S SUMMER OF LEARNING

-I was in a partriotic muscial at church and had my practice cd in the car. Maggie can sing every song. Her favorite is the "Swing" song. The name has now grown into "Swing Down Chariot Stop and Wet Me Wide." She will immediately ask for it when we get in the car and on the last note, say, "Againt...againt." We must hear it 10 times a day. On the rare occassion that we get passed that one, she loves "Lord, Listen to Your Children Praying" and "How Great Thou Art." She really belts the high notes there. Her song repertoire is much to large to name them all. She does love "Oh, How I Love Jesus", "Twinkle, Twinkle", "the sunshine song" which is "Ain't No Sunshine When He's Gone" and many, many more. When she sings "Joyful, Joyful", because of "The Wiggles", it's "Joyful, Joyful We a Dorothy." She's been watching Mommy closely and tries her best to form the words correctly with very open vowels. It's impressive.
-She walked in when Brett was getting out of the shower and said, "Daddy, what's dat" Brett replied, "That's daddy's penis." She said, "Wow, Daddy's penis...would you look at dat!" Later, after he was dressed, she said, "Daddy, where's your penis? I want to see him?" (8/1/08) -She has learned many landmarks in our little town. Of course, the most recognizable one is "Mommy, there's Casa!" She tells me where the "Fruit Stand Man" is and the post office. "That's where I get a sticker, from a lady, it was a mousy, and I put it on my weg!" There was a Hibbett's billboard with a giant shoe that had a tiny little picture of Elmo on it. Mag spotted him. We would pass him and she would say, "Hey Elmo, I going to church." Right after that, is the bridge. She'll say, "Here it comes, the big river!" After that, "There's the hospital, where Granna works." Going over the other bridge, she speaks to the puppy on that billboard and says, "Dat's where Uncle Dabid works" when we pass his office.
-There is a horse stable down the road from our house. We take her by to see the horses each time on the way home. We roll down the window and she says "Hey horseys...they eating grass!" Around the corner from that is the caution light in front of the elementary school. She'll now tell me, "there's the caution light...dat means slow down and beeee careful."
-She finally got over her "gagging." Once she did, there has been no limit to what she will try. Her favorites are spaghetti, beetos and taco burgers from Casa, and all fruits. She will eat all day. She eats everything from bell peppers to Pringles dipped in ketchup. She's a dipper, like her momma. It's "I wanna dip it in there."
-We were looking at a photo album and she said, "Awww, sweet daddy, he's cute" and kissed his picture.
-She's ready for a little brother. She'll throw the ball to our cat and say, "Chucky...catch! Chucky...catch the ball!" It will roll right passed and she will look at him with such disappointment. She'll stand next to him and say, "Chucky...run!" When he just sits there, it's "Chucky...you didn't go?"
-When she's upset, it's "Mommy, I want to catch you!"
-Her little boyfriend is Jake. We go to church with him. She gets so excited about seeing him. The feeling's mutual. They were caught hugging and Jake kissing her in the little baby bed during Sunday School. Whenever they see each other, they just hug and Jake plants a big one on her. (8/17/08)
-We've moved on from "The Wiggles" a bit and are into "Caillou." She gets so excited and dances when certain songs come on. She has memorized many of the episodes word for word. She gets the phone and quotes an exact line from the show. "Hey, oh really, I'll look around." She hangs up and says, "That was Leo's Mommy, Leo lost his toy dinosaur."
-When she hits her head, it's "Uh-oh, I bonk-ed da head."

MAGGIE'S 1st PIG TAILS

They were a little, okay, a lot uneven but who cares. (picture date 8/17/08)

DeJUANA'S SURPRISE 40th BIRTHDAY PARTY

DeJuana had a rather unusual surprise party especially since her brithday isn't until October! She thought she was planning a party for a friend of ours but it was actually for her. The invitations read, "She's throwing a party for Robert's 5-0, she's ordered the cake, decorations but whoa! The party's for her yet she's done all the work. Her husband must really be some kind of jerk!" It was great. We had it at El Shoney's and there were about 70 friends and family in attendance. David finally pulled one over on the queen of parties. (picture date 8/16/08)

I'm almost 35 weeks prego here.

Maggie had so much fun. There were many kids there from church. Her boyfriend, Jake, was there so she was plenty excited.

OUR 5TH ANNIVERSARY TRIP

Brett and I went to the beach...alone, for our 5 year anniversary. My boss let us use his condo at the Beach Club. We had a really good time after I finished crying all day Friday because I wanted to go back and get Maggie. All we did was talk about her and wonder what she was doing. It was very hard to just sit, relax, and do nothing. (picture date 7/11/08)

"What up, dog."

"The Thinker."

30 weeks prego.

SPRINKLER FUN

"I'm not too sure about this." (picture date 7/7/08)

Getting there.
A little closer.

There we go.
