HERE HE IS...JAMES MAC SHEWMAKE!

James Mac Shewmake was born Thursday, September 25th at 3:51 PM. It was so much easier the second time around. I was induced at 8:00, starting pushing at 3:45 PM and he was born at 3:51 PM. Who says boys aren't easier than girls? This little guy was named after many great men. James is Brett's daddy and brother's name. With my maiden name being McDaniel, my daddy has always been called Mac, as was his father. Also, my other Grandfather had the last name McElroy and so he is the third Mac in the bunch. Our little man not only has big shoes to fill but many pair. (picture date 8/25/08)
My former comment was incorrect. He's not 6 minutes old here. He had just popped his little self out. As Maggie would say, he's still "ooey gooey."

Maggie was in and out of the hospital room all day. I was wearing the little rubber deal on my finger so they could monitor my heart rate. Maggie walked in for the first time and said, "Wow...Mommy, are you going to do a puppet show?" There is an episode of Caiilou where he uses finger puppets. She's very observant. Aunt DeJuana, Harrison, and Hayden went out and found some finger puppets and brought to her. They are the best.

Proud daddy. He was wearing this hat when Mag was born as well. It's all tattered and torn but still my favorite.

One of the many namesakes.

Brett had been so ready to watch the USC game with his son on Thursday night. Not only was he able to do that but USC lost also. Notice the "A" on his hat?

Mac just squeaks. Maggie was mocking him by this point.

Maggie got plenty of loot.

I love Maggie's shirt. It says, "Big Sisters Rock."

I don't know who had more fun at the "Big Sister" party, Maggie or Grandpa.

"Are you sure I should be doing this?"

ESPN...all day long.

Maggie also went home on a game day. Harrison gave him this outfit to prepare for that happening. With both of them being born on a Thursday, they both wore there game gear to watch Bama.

LIL' MAN'S SHOWER

DeJuana gave me a baby shower because we had no little boy things. We do now! We had friends, family, and the girls from Sunday School. Of course, DeJ went all out. It was wonderful with all of my favorite foods. Michelle was sweet enough to help her as hostess. (picture date 9/8/08)

MORE FROM MAG

-I told Maggie that Friday was Share Day at her school. I asked her what she'd like to take with her to show her friends. She got bright-eyed and said, "I wanna take Jake!" (8/28/08)
-Now, my belly buttom is not pertruding but is no way like it used to be. I was laying on the couch and Mag walked up and said, "What's that?" I told her that she knew that was my belly buttom. She replied, "Oh no...it fell down!" (8/30/08)
-The other day, we asked her if she was hungry. She replied, "No, I had a full lunch."
-I have to sing to her almost all in time in the car. Believe it or not, sometimes I get a little tired of it. Anytime I ask Brett to tag in, he gets a few notes out and it's, "Mommy...help!"
-I was reading the bible and Mag walked up and said, "Mommy, you reading the bible? That's a wat of words."
-Brett asked Maggie if she had pooped and she said, "I sure did!" (9/7/08)
-Mag got on the phone and pretended to call Harrison. She said, "Hey Harrison, what are you doing? I did a big poopy. It was oohwie, goowie." (9/2/08)
-We went to pick up Harrison the day before Mag's birthday. He got in the car and Maggie said, "Harrison, you going to say happy birthday?" (9/6/08)

MAGGIE'S 2ND BIRTHDAY PARTY

Maggie's 2nd birthday party was a little woodland forest filled with butterflies and fairies. I wish that all of the decor showed up better in the pictures. There were little butterfiles scattered everywhere. Contrary to what some may say, we didn't go all out because Mag had almost all of this in her room already and I do think that she enjoyed it. (picture date 8/30/08)

Maggie didn't quite like everyone staring at her so Sarah Kate and Mary Randall came over to take some of the pressure off. It seemed to have worked very well.

Way prego mommy and her little birthday fairy. Notice my butterfly necklace as well.

Of course, the balloons were a big hit.

Jake, Mag, and Sawyer

I like the little fairy propped up on the top on the food. Brett stuck her there.

PLAYING WITH STICKERS

Mag and I had been playing with stickers one afternoon and that night, she thought that it would be fun to decorate her little brother. (picture date 8/27/08)
