MARLA JO'S WEDDING

My cousin, Marla, got married on September 22nd in Oklahoma City. Mom, Dad, Brett, Maggie, Harrison, Hayden, and I all loaded up in the Suburban for the 13 hour drive. What a trip! Maggie was such a trooper. We were so proud of her. We should have known that she would do well since she is so laid back, just like her daddy. It was totally crowded and a bit uncomfortable at times but was really a whole lot of fun.

The wedding was absolutely beautiful. John's dad performed the service and it was wonderful. Marla did an excellent job with all the arrangements.

Marla and John, we love you both so much and all I can say is "Welcome to this crazy family, John-Boy!"

It looks like Mag is pulling Marla's hair. Ouch!

This is a personal favorite of mine. Aunt Betty is trying to get Marla hooked.

The beautiful bride.

Grandpa asked Maggie if she cared to dance. Of course she did!

This is Hayden dancing with her cousin, Olivia. I hate that we didn't get any pictures of Olivia's sisters, Madeline and Caroline. My cousin, Melissa, has the sweetest and most beautiful girls.

GRANDPA'S BIRTHDAY

Grandpa's 63rd birthday was on the 15th. We worked the Bama game with the youth group and were there all day long. DeJuana brought a cake and we all sang to him during the slow concession time. On September 16th, we all had a surprise party for him at the bowling alley. We were actually able to pull one over on him! I think he had a really good time. Almost the whole family was able to attend. I'm not even going to name everyone in this picture. You'll have to figure it out for yourselves.

He's still got it!

I guess Maggie was clapping for Grandpa's bowling score because she surely wasn't applauding mine. I was able to throw the ball into the other lane even though we had the bumpers up! Pitiful!

There was also another birthday party next to us for someone that we go to church with. Maggie's friend Sarah Kate was there.

MAGGIE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

I told Brett when Maggie was born that her first birthday party could be Alabama themed, and so it was. We had everyone over to Uncle David and Aunt DeJuana's house to watch the Bama vs. Vandy game. Aunt DeJuana did a fantastic job with decorating from top to bottom with Bama paraphernalia. She even made a cake in the shape of a stadium that Aunt Anita sent her the mold for. Even though she had to skip her nap, Maggie was a great little party girl. She really had a wonderful time as well as the rest of us. (picture date 9/8/07)

This uniform actually belonged to Hayden when she was little. It was very cute to see it passed down to Maggie.

Maggie got a chance to play with her cousin Shelby.

This is a terrible picture but it is the only family shot that we were able to get.

The night before her party, the hat was still sealed in it's original box. When I got home, Charlie (our cat), had opened the box and torn all the fuzzy off the bottom. Mom had to hot glue it back together. Charlie was definitely on my poopoo list that night.

This was my find of the month. Brett and I went all over town looking for a cute cake for Maggie. Everything was so generic. At 9:30, the night before, I stumbled upon this at Foodmax for $2.50! Perfect!

Before eating her cake, we took her out of her uniform and put on her Bama bib, diaper cover, and hat, which she would not keep on.

Every morning when we get to mom's, we show Maggie the flag and say, "salute the flag." When she was eating her cake, I said "salute" and smack...icing all in the ear. I couldn't resist. You only get to do this once, right?
