MISSION ORGANIZATION
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAYDEN AND HAPPY 2009, EVERYONE!
That's my girl!!! After one of our concerts, Maggie went on stage, grabbed the mic, tapped it, and said, "Turn it on." She then proceeded to sing, "We Three Kings." I hadn't thought about it but someone pointed out to me that most children don't pick that song to sing because it's in a minor key. She's got an incredible ear. The day after Thanksgiving, 96.5 goes to non-stop Christmas music. Of course, I don't allow anyone to change the station until the day after Christmas. She and I sang the whole season. Some of her favs were, "The Charlie Brown" song, "Jingle Bell Rock", "The Polar Express" song. Whenever that one came on, she would want me to hold her hand, just like they do in the movie. At the end, she jumps to harmony! I love it!
CHRISTMAS EVE
Mac and Maggie wore their Christmas pj's to church. Here, Hayden is trying to help him walk the aisle, so to speak. He's really advanced! It was nice having both of our families there, even though my songs were interrupted by a tornado warning. There was a very special occurrence during our "hunker down" time in the basement. One of the men in our church told the Christmas Story. Mom was holding Maggie and she was so focused in on what he was saying. He told the entire story while looking straight into her eyes. It was as if he was focused in on this little child absorbing the the magnitude of that incredible event. Maggie looked at Grandmother and said, "That's just like on Charlie Brown." Is case you don't remember, Linus tries to explain it to him. "That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown." Thanks, John. (Christmas Eve 2008)
