2010 HAS NOT DISAPPOINTED

-On December 29th, I went for a regular doctor's visit. I got some disappointing news. The baby was transverse/sideways. I was not a happy camper. I have always feared a c-section. I didn't go back to work that afternoon. But, when Brett got home, all was okay. He can make things better just by walking in the door. We did a lot of praying & had a lot of folks praying. When I went back on January 4th, Brett went as well. Just before Dr Reed came in the room, Brett prayed again that God's will be done. Dr. Reed checked me and said that he really thought that the head was down. We went and double-checked with an ultrasound and sure enough, it was. Thank you, God. If he/she had not flipped, I'm sure there would have been a reason that perhaps, only God knew about. Only His timing is perfect. -Brett was putting the kids in the tub when Maggie threw a ball in the water. He told her not to and she said, "Well, I did it yesterday you little butthead." Brett sent her to her room. I went in to talk to her and told her that we didn't say things like that. She replied, very sweetly, "But mommy, you called me a little butthead yesterday." All I could do was walk out. Once in the hall, I realized that Brett had heard the conversation. He said, "You may want to work on your parenting skills b/c you've been sucking lately." -It's so been a complete guessing game on the arrival of #3. By date, I was due January 1st. That would have been pretty neat if that would have happened. But, it didn't. I am just glad to have made it through Christmas and into the new year. I didn't want the baby to have a birthday too close to Christmas nor did I want a child born in 2008 and 2009. This way, I will have kids born in 2006, 2008, and 2010. By ultrasound, the baby has always shown due January 10th. I thought for sure that there was no way that the Turner family would all be in town for the event. Hayden left on December 30th for Disney World and didn't return until January 5th. Harrison and David left on January 5th to head to Pasadena and returned on the 8th. Harrison said that I had to wait until he got home. I told him that if he viewed the game more important that his new cousin than I guessed Hayden would be the favorite this time. hehe. Oh, and I'm sure I'll have to be induced b/c if that game didn't do it, nothing will. Wow. -Just before game time, Maggie & I were watching "30 Minutes Meals." Brett told her that the game was coming on and there she went. "Daddy, mommy & I were watching Rachel Ray. I am sick of this. You are just aggravating me. This is not an important game. I'll send you to your room and shut the door very loudly. Hey, young man, are you even listening to me? I am just sick of this. Sick of this!" -Mac, Maggie, Chucky, my belly, & I were curled up on the couch watching "Days of Our Lives." Maggie asked, "Who is that?" I said, "That's Nicole." Maggie said, "Oh, the one who took Sidney?" Nope, no more "Days" for her. (1/7/10) -Mac has been sick all week. That has not been a highlight of '10. We have had many almost completely sleepness night. Brett & I both called in on the 4th and had him at the doctor. He had tonsillitis and was running a temp of 103 on and off for days. Later, we had to take him to Med Center for a shot and antibiotics. One of those nights, Maggie also woke up screaming. She had eaten too many Mandarin Oranges and it caused burning and irritation. She was soaking in the tub at 1 am. That same night, we had been asleep for about 30 minutes when we woke up with no power. It was pretty creepy. And cold. It was 4:45 am and 18 degrees outside. We were trying to keep everyone warm. The power was finally restored around 8am. -On the day of the big game, it snowed! No accumulation, of course, and schools closed, of course. Maggie was so excited to see it snowing. She jumped up and down saying, "Get the shovels! We have to build a snowman!" Bless her heart. It was gone in 10 minutes. I am glad that #3 has held off so far. We are having a major Arctic blast, as they say. It's been in the teens each night. I'd hate to go in labor and have to get out in that! (1/7/10) -ROLL TIDE!!! Alabama won their 13th National Championship! Once again, we just wanted to stay inside and warm and hang out with the kids. We ordered pizza, drank hot chocolate, and watched the game. Whew! What a ballgame! (1/7/10) -Maggie has been adament that #3 would be a girl. Her name would be Maggie Mac Angel Matthew. One night, while we were laying in bed, Brett said, "You know that the baby may be a boy." Maggie said, "Did you not here me? The baby will be a girl and her name will be Maggie Mac Angel Matthew!" Brett said, "God will decide if it's a girl or boy. You'll love it if is a boy." She rolled her eyes, threw her arms crossed, and said "I will love it if it's a girl! I'm telling you, it's a girl and her name is Maggie Mac Angel Matthew!" When I first found out that I was pregnant, we were leaving dance one day. Maggie had no clue about the baby at that time. She said, "I have a baby sister." I said, "No, you have a baby brother." She replied. "I have a baby brother and a baby sister." I guess she just new.
