SOME V'DAY DECOR

My mantle. I printed out the vintage cards from MK/another's website. Already had the rafia string. Went to Home Accents, found the roses there for less than $5. They were selling rose blooms in faux milk glass for $20! I already had a piece of real milk glass so I just cut a few roses from the bunch and there you go. That "love" print is also a freebie.
Subway art via MK's blog via another blog. Which one was it, MK? I'm totally new to this whole linking thing. I found that little candle holder at Walgreens for $1.99 and the single rose was laying in my kitchen window for some reason.
Corner cabinet in the kitchen.
On top are three beautiful glass pieces that always have to be decorated because I have no where else to store them. Also, my one and only piece of Capa De Monte. I'll def have to check on that spelling. My aunt loves that stuff and gave me this one years ago. Anyway, I checked out Walmart for the petals but they were crazy high. So, I tried Dollar Tree. They had them 9 bucks cheaper. Lesser quality but from that high up, who can tell? Also, I put two bags of those candy heart things with the v'day expressions on them in the pedestal bowl. Those are a classic. Again, can't really tell what they are but at least they're Valentine's colors. Think I'll get ants? Also, for filler...fake snow. I know, snow and v'day candy don't mix all that well and you don't have roses in the dead of winter but oh well. I kinda found it fitting since we've had more winter weather than I can ever remember in Alabama.
The cool thing about this hutch is that my mom thought it would be neat for us and the kids in the neighborhood to carve in it. Not sure where that idea came from. Here are my initials.
Here is a pic of me and one of my brother's when we were little & a pic of me and hubby a few years ago. If you look closely behind them, you may see...
This little fella.
Someone played a game of tic-tac-toe.
This appears to be my attempt at a couple of quarter notes.
After all, it was 1987.

I know I commented on facebook, but I have to comment here too...I love it!!! I'm loving the stuff carved into your hutch too- had no clue that was there! I'm partial to the MMM...

I love how your wedding picture is such a nice focal point to your mantel.
