FOR THOSE WHO SAID THAT I WOULDN'T KEEP UP WITH THIS AFTER HAVING A SECOND CHILD.....BOO-YAH!

THE PLEDGE

She learned the pledge a few months ago but she surprised me today by just blurting it out. I didn't know that she was so confident with it now. I tell you what, her school is wonderful. (video date 2/12/09)

"WOMANIZER"

Not to worry, she only sings Britney's songs. She doesn't copy her behavior. She knows more words than this but as you can tell, she's all done. (video date 2/12/09)

MY VIDEO FUNCTION IS FINALLY WORKING AGAIN!

Maggie just loves Taylor Swift songs. Here she is singing "Love Story." She is being a little timid here but usually she belts it out. She had a few distractions though. Hayden and I were both watching her, Chucky was wondering around, the "Love Story" video was on the computer, and I had that blasted camera stuck in her face. However, I am so amazed at how well she matches pitches. (video date 2/8/09)
Maggie had so many favorite Christmas songs. One of which was "Baby Jesus." This was Christmas night so she was a little partied out. You will see what I'm talking about by the way she's playing with her feet. (video date 12/25/08)
Another favorite was "We Three Kings." I wish I could edit out the road noise but I'm just not that good. (video date 12/21/09)

WORKING ON VALENTINE'S CARDS

Maggie has two parties at school this week. Of course, her cards are pastel colored butterflies. (picture date 2/11/09)

MY NEW FAVORITE PICTURE

(picture date 2/8/09)

MAG AND DOLPHIN

Maggie has started something that I thought would take her forever. She's going to sleep by herself! Yes, she's still in our bed but this is a huge start. She cracks us up though. She either sleeps with Bear or Dolphin. We will tuck them in and tell her goodnight. As soon as we get in the livingroom, she's calling us asking for a drink. Of course, she can totally make that last. Then, she calls us again because Bear or Dolphin have gotten out from under the covers and need tucking back in again. It's really hard to keep a straight with her. (picture date 2/3/09)

"WHATCHA DOIN' IN THERE BABY BROTHER?"

SILLY HAT DAY

Maggie had Silly Hat Day at school. They wore a silly hat and also made their own. In this picture, Mac and Maggie are modeling. (picture 1/30/09)

This hat was fine when I was little. Maggie calls it her sombrero. (picture date 1/30/09)

And here is the lovely Maggie Brighton sporting her pink and teal butterfly backpack given by Marla and colorful ball hat designed by Miss Maggie herself.

MY LITTLE DANCING QUEEN

Maggie started taking dance lessons at The Academy of Ballet and Jazz. That was part of her Christmas present from Uncle Danny, Aunt Anita, Robby and Veronica. Maggie was so excited. The day we went to the studio to get her leotard, we had to put her pj's over it for dinner because she wouldn't take it off. Brett, Maggie, Mac, and I all arrived early for her first class. She stood in the door watching for the other girls to arrive. When she would see someone, she would start jumping and yelling, "here comes my new friends!" The first lesson was actually a trial run. She is the only two year old in a class with three and four year olds. Miss Tessa was very impressed with Maggie's ability to follow instructions. She said that Maggie did that better than many of the older girls. The class is a combination of tap, ballet, jazz, creative movement, and tumbling. I have to say, she looks absolutely precious doing all of those things. If anyone is interested in attending, her recital is May 16th at 11:00. In case you didn't know, I am also taking dance. I am taking an adult hip hop class. It is such a workout and so much fun! My recital is at 7:00 on that same day. (picture date 1/26/09)

This was one of the two pajama days at school. (picture date 1/13/09)

WE LOVE BATH TIME

She still just loves the tub. Mac gets really excited when he hears the water running. When you start to undress him, he just giggles. I have two little fishes. (picture date 1/11/09)

It's a good thing that Chucky is not allergic to children. Hehe. Don't stroke or call DHR. Chuck was promtly removed after this pic was taken. (picture 1/6/09)

She is wearing my old Snoopy shirt and Mrs. Potato Head's glasses. (picture date 1/3/09)

MISSION ORGANIZATION

We are starting the year off right by completely cleaning out. It's ridiculous how much stuff our children have. (picture date New Year's Day)

Give me a little time and I can work wonders.

It looks like a "Where's Waldo" picture.
Tada

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HAYDEN AND HAPPY 2009, EVERYONE!

Hayden had a boy/girl, birthday/New Year's Eve party. This party had everything from dancing to fireworks. We hung in with the youngins and welcomed in the new year. (picture date New Year's Eve 2008)

Granpaw is dancing under the disco light.

DeJuana is rethinking having 20 plus squealing 11 years spend the night. Don't worry folks, it's only Welch's.

She just gave in and joined me and Tonya.

"Do, Do, Do, the 'lectric slide."

me and the birthday girl

She loves playing on this. She has some very strong ab muscles. She would say, "I wanna do dips."

"That was fun!"

"Is that chocolate that I see?"

"Now, that's what I'm talking about!"

Hehehe. I'm wired for the night.

MISC. PICS FROM DECEMBER 2008

Brett bought this pitiful little suit when I was pregnant with Maggie. The poor little man was so embarrassed that he had to wear it to church.

Poor Chucky. Harrison and Hayden were wondering how she got that hanger around his neck. She said, "Like this", as she took both hands and wopped him slap on the head.

That's my girl!!! After one of our concerts, Maggie went on stage, grabbed the mic, tapped it, and said, "Turn it on." She then proceeded to sing, "We Three Kings." I hadn't thought about it but someone pointed out to me that most children don't pick that song to sing because it's in a minor key. She's got an incredible ear. The day after Thanksgiving, 96.5 goes to non-stop Christmas music. Of course, I don't allow anyone to change the station until the day after Christmas. She and I sang the whole season. Some of her favs were, "The Charlie Brown" song, "Jingle Bell Rock", "The Polar Express" song. Whenever that one came on, she would want me to hold her hand, just like they do in the movie. At the end, she jumps to harmony! I love it!

Brett can seriously sleep through anything.

CHRISTMAS EVE

Mac and Maggie wore their Christmas pj's to church. Here, Hayden is trying to help him walk the aisle, so to speak. He's really advanced! It was nice having both of our families there, even though my songs were interrupted by a tornado warning. There was a very special occurrence during our "hunker down" time in the basement. One of the men in our church told the Christmas Story. Mom was holding Maggie and she was so focused in on what he was saying. He told the entire story while looking straight into her eyes. It was as if he was focused in on this little child absorbing the the magnitude of that incredible event. Maggie looked at Grandmother and said, "That's just like on Charlie Brown." Is case you don't remember, Linus tries to explain it to him. "That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown." Thanks, John. (Christmas Eve 2008)

Papa, Granna, Uncle Chad, and Aunt Jessica all come to our house for Christmas Eve dinner. Mac had had a long day.

He is still asleep when we get to mom and daddy's.
