WINNER WINNER, CHICKEN DINNER - MAGGIE B IS NOW A SWIMMER

Okay, so I took a little liberty with the title.  ;)
Mag took lessons from Swim Kids when she was three.  The first session was great.  She could climb in and out by herself, monkey crawl, go under water, was really comfortable, etc.  She was sooo close to swimming.  We decided to continue but the second session left much to be desired.  We meant to enroll her somewhere last year but things were just hectic with Mary having arrived in January that we kinda let the summer pass us by.  Lisa told me about Nancy Terry.  She said that she was amazing.  I already knew who she was because she was my assistant principal at County High.  Lisa was correct.  She was wonderful.  Mag was swimming by day two.

Boys have it easy.  They can just hop out of a pool, yank their britches down, and pee anywhere.  Mrs. Nancy told Mag to just squat to pee then she'd wash her off.  The first day, Mag tried then said, "I think I'll just wait."  By the end, she was peeing like a champ with the boys.  That's what you do when you're the only girl in a class full of boys.  I was amazed at how often these kids had to go.  Something about the water, I guess.  That or the "monkey see, monkey do" effect.
The class was M-F at 4 o'clock (except the days when dance and/or gymnastics conflicted, then it was at 3) for two weeks.  And let me remind you that we were flirting with 100 degree temps.  It was h-o-t sitting out there for over an hour everyday.  The last class was a morning class, thank goodness.  It was this past Friday at 10.  Brett and I took the whole fam with us.  The lessons were at Nancy's friend, Mrs. Cathy's house.  She lives in the back side of Forest Lake.  It was still a shocker to drive through there everyday.
Mary sat and played in the leaves for a while.  See that cute little sign in front of her?  She played with it for a minute or two before jerking it off it's holder.  Then, she pulled the metal rod slap out of the ground.

Mac brought his trucks to play with but here he's taking a little break.

She graduated!

Mac really wanted to swim that morning at the lesson & Mag was super pumped about her accomplishment so we took them swimming that night. Here's a little sample of what she learned. Later that night, she swam about 20 feet. Really, I have no clue how far it was because I have zero sense of distance. It was really far though. ;)
